System Consultant
The purpose of this position is to increase the current customer base and the quality of business we have with each customer. The individual would be responsible for developing new business relationships with prospects with new services, less risk, and longer terms. The individual will communicate with customers by phone, mail, and in person.
Essential Functions of the Job
- Research data sources to identify potential customers.
- Contact prospects by phone, mail, or in person to start new business.
- Contact existing clients to expand term and scope of our relationship.
- Identify customer needs and opportunities with research and communications.
- Learn about our product portfolio and how to apply each item.
- Be informed about issues relating to customer needs, competition, and our service.
- Represent company in trade groups and give prepared presentations to groups.
- Provide complete and current internal paperwork requirements.
- Grow skills for sales, product knowledge, customer knowledge through training.
- Provide customer service for systems sold and to customers for improved product use.
- Create problem solving analysis and sales presentations for prospects.
- Travel an assigned territory, meeting the customer and selling product face-to-face.
- Meet sales targets set by company, relative to margin, term, risk, and product mix.
- Ambitious and willing to work beyond the typical "8 to 5" workday.
- Positive attitude about life, work, and past experiences.
- Desire to grow professionally through experience and special training.
- Good listener and sincerely interested in what others have to say and need.
- Experience with long-term care is good, but sales aptitude is more important.
- Honest, loyal, and high integrity.
- Goal oriented, achievement seeking, flexible, assertive, extroverted, and imaginative.
- Ability to travel throughout a territory to visit customers and attend sales meetings.
- Ability to spend approximately 60-90% of work time in assigned territory, including overnight stays.
